The Latest Scoop Reveals How The X-Men Will Arrive In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

The most recent Marvel Studios scoop reveals just how Marvel’s arguably biggest franchise the X-Men will arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The scoop comes from Mikey Sutton at Geekosity Mag, who reveals the X-Men will arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as early as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Sutton details, “According to insiders, Feige is planning on opening up the multiverse to beyond Sony’s original Spider-Man movies.”

He adds, “They reveal there are discussions to feature cameos by members of the first X-Men cast, basically a fond farewell to the past as the MCU proceeds to the future with rebooted mutants of their own.”

Sutton did not provide any details on which members of the X-Men would appear in these cameos other than it would be characters from the original Fox films. So there are plenty of characters to choose from as well as multiple iterations of some characters like Jean Grey and Cyclops.

This latest scoop from Sutton comes after Kevin Feige gave us some more details about Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness at the Disney Investor Day 2020 and how it connects directly to Spider-Man 3 and WandaVision.

Feige stated, “[Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on March 25, 2022 and we are really pushing the boundaries of storytelling with this thrilling, scary, mind-bending adventure.”

“Not only will Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness connect directly to the events of WandaVision, but it will also connect to the events of our new Spider-Man film coming December 2021,” he continued.

Following this announcement, Sutton scooped that events in WandaVision will allow for the arrival of multiple Spider-Man characters allegedly from previous films like Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Jamie Foxx’s Electro, and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man.

He detailed, “Events in WandaVision are what leads the other Sony universe characters to materialize on this Earth. It’ll be the fault of the Scarlet Witch.”

As to how exactly, Sutton was mum on those details. However, he did detail that Spider-Man 3 will involve time travel as well as “swinging from one universe to another.”

It’s quite possible this rumored X-Men cameo might occur when they swing into an X-Men only universe.

The X-Men were noticeably missing from Marvel Studios presentation at Disney Investor Day 2020. In fact, Feige provided a Fantastic Four announcement over the X-Men.

While official word on the X-Men has been few and far between. Sutton also previously scooped that Marvel Studios is working in the background on casting X-Men characters.

Sutton claimed that Legion actor Dan Stevens was being looked at to take on the role of Magneto. He reported, “According to my sources, Stevens is being looked at for the new Magneto, this time fitting within the MCU, rebooted for what is also being planned to be a new cast for the X-Men.”

Sutton isn’t the only one to claim that Marvel Studios is looking at Stevens to take on a role in the MCU. Small Screen’s Edward Lauder claimed that Marvel Studios was looking to cast Stevens in a villain role.

Lauder reported, “We’re being told by our sources that it could be a villain role, which would suit Stevens perfectly if you ask me.”

His source reported, “Dan [Stevens] and Marvel are currently deep in discussions. It’s for a role in the MCU – the movies – and it could be a villain.”

A second source allegedly told him, “Stevens is in talks with Marvel. Kevin Feige is super excited to bring him into the Marvel family. I’m hearing it’s for a villain role – not Legion.”

What do you make of all these X-Men rumors? Are you interested in seeing them in the MCU? Who do you think would be a good Magneto?
