Zack Snyder Reveals When Justice League Arrives On HBO Max!

While it’s been known that Zack Snyder’s cut of Justice League would land on HBO Max in early 2021, the director himself has now narrowed down the release window to a specific period earlier in the year.

In a recent Vero post, Snyder informed fans who have been anticipating the film’s release for two years to mark their calendars for March 2021.
In response to a fan of Joss Whedon’s version of the film, who inquired on whether elements from that particular cut would remain ‘in canon’, Snyder wrote, “I understand and of course respect your feelings and I just hope I can wipe that Version out of existence with what you see in March.”
As is a well-known point of history at this point, Whedon was brought on to finish Justice League in 2017 after Snyder abruptly left the production following the untimely and unfortunate death of his daughter.
Unfortunately, when Whedon took over as director, he rewrote numerous elements from the original script and submitted a final product that significantly differed from Snyder’s original vision, which ultimately resulted in the convoluted superhero crossover that premiered in theaters.

Since concluding work on Justice League, Whedon has faced a number of misconduct allegations from Cyborg-actor Ray Fisher, who alleged that the director’s on-set behavior was “gross, abusive, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable.”
Alongside fans and actors, Whedon’s cut was also written off by his fellow DCEU directors, as according to Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins, she and an unspecified number of “DC directors” had “tossed” Whedon’s cut “just as much as the fans did.”

While the fallout from Whedon’s temporary run as the Justice League’s stand-in director continues to have lingering effects on the production of the Snyder Cut, it appears that most production members involved are attempting to keep their optimism looking forward, as in a separate Vero post, Snyder shared a new image of Amy Adams as Lois Lane and bragged about the “amazing job” his sound crew was doing in post-production.
However, this teaser of the Daily Planet’s star-reporter was nothing compared to a full-color shot IMAX shot of Darkseid (as Uxas) shared by Snyder, which was captured and shared by the director after he “went down to IMAX to see all the Big aspect ratio glory”.

Recently, Snyder revealed that he was already in talks to release Justice League in theaters alongside its HBO Max debut, with the director noting that the “violence and profanity” in his cut would most likely net the film an ‘R’-rating from the MPAA.
Though, given how excited fans would be to see Darkseid in IMAX, the more mature rating would likely be a fair-trade in the eyes of those most anticipating the Snyder Cut’s release.
