Twitter User Questions Whether Disney Will Cancel The Auschwitz Memorial After Posting Similar Tweet To Gina Carano

Mickey Mouse Gina Carano

A Twitter user questioned whether Disney and Lucasfilm will cancel the Auschwitz Memorial for posting a similar tweet to former The Mandalorian actress Gina Carano.

Carano was fired via a press statement by Disney and Lucasfilm.

That statement read, “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future.”

It added, “Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.

The statement came after Twitter users like DiscussingFilm falsely accused Carano of sharing a “disgusting post that compared being a Republican to being a Jew during the Holocaust.”

The post in question, seen below, was clearly warning about how hating your neighbors can lead to horrific violence. There is no mention of Republicans.

It reads, “Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children.”

A separate quote in the post states, “Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

Now, Twitter user Indiana30381975 recently took to Twitter  where he shared a tweet from the Auschwitz Memorial official page.

That post reads, “When we look at Auschwitz we see the end of the process. It’s important to remember that the Holocaust actually did not start from gas chambers. This hatred gradually developed from words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanisation & escalating violence.”

Indiana30381975 wrote, “Ohh look. The same thing Gina Carano said. I guess The Auschwiz Memorial needs to get the White Supremacy label and get cancelled too now. Woud’t you agree, Disney?”

He added, “We don’t want double-standards and hypocricy (sp?), after all.”

What do you make of Indiana30381975’s question about whether Disney will cancel the Auschwitz Memorial?
