Crunchyroll announced they have picked up Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S as part of their fall anime season.

Earlier today, they released a trailer for the upcoming show revealing it will arrive in July 2021.

The show came under fire back in February, when a number of crazed Twitter activists accused the show of promoting pedophilia specifically for how the show depicts Iruru, as seen in the tweet below from BellowDGaming.

Twitter user Cisappointment wrote, “The only good thing about this design is that people are now realizing that Dragon Maid is f***ing shit and creepy as hell towards the kids in it.”

Twitter user ManiacalToast wrote, “Whoever designed this, I’m gonna guess they have a series of photos in their basement that would get them thrown in jail if this was a just world. That’s a f***ing child, Jesus.”

Despite these detractors and accusations, Crunchyroll will pick up Miss Kobayashi Dragon Maid S after they previously streamed Miss Kobayasahi’s Dragon Maid back in 2017.

The official description for Miss Kobayashi Dragon Maid S reads, “The wacky Dragon Maid is back again! A strange turn of events leads the Dragon, Tohru, to work as Miss Kobayashi’s maid.”

“She occasionally (that’s a lie, she often) causes trouble for her beloved Miss Kobayashi while blending into human society and splendidly (that’s a lie, only mediocrely) carrying out her maid duties,” it continues.

It concludes, “Her fellow dragons, Kanna, Lucoa, Fafnir, and Elma all find their own places to fit in as well and enjoy interspecies interactions with the humans. Yet while they’re all enjoying that laid-back and occasionally turbulent left, the threat of a new Dragon swoops down upon Miss Kobayashi.”

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S will be the first anime produced by Kyoto Animation following an arson attack on their building back in the summer of 2019. The attack took the lives of 33 Kyoto Animation employees including Yasuhiro Takemoto, who was the series’ first season director.
