Alleged Warner Bros. Insider Debunks Rumors of Conflict Between Robert Pattinson and Matt Reeves On Set Of The Batman, Says The Two Will Work Together on Sequel

The game of industry telephone surrounding The Batman continues, as an alleged Warner Bros. insider has refuted the widespread rumors that director Matt Reeves and star Robert Pattinson have been at odds during the making of the film, even adding that the two will supposedly continue to collaborate on further cinematic outings for their version of the Caped Crusader.

Stories of Pattinson’s supposedly poor behavior during production – not showing up to set in shape, clashing with Reeves, and even getting costar Zoe Kravitz pregnant on the hood of the Dark Knight’s iconic car, hae persisted over the past year of The Batman’s filming.

These claims were passed along by anonymous sources to various news outlets and personalities, including YouTuber Dicktor Van Doomcock, We Got This Covered, and filmmaker Gary Tunnicliffe – each of whom, though Doomcock especially, shared the allegations with an urging to keep the salt handy.

According to an individual known “to have close ties to Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO Max” who spoke to UK film news outlet Small Screen,  “As far as I am aware, Robert and Matt will be working together on The Batman’s sequel.”

“The hype surrounding the movie here at WB is palpable,” said the source. “WB is very happy with how the film’s turning out. They want them [Pattinson and Reeves] to make a second one.”

On the varied speculation of animus and dissension between parties, the source brushed it off as nothing more than Pattinson and Twilight haters stirring the pot.

“The [rumors] of them not getting along are just being spread by some nobodies on Twitter and YouTube that were upset that the bloke from Twilight was cast as Batman,” they said.

The source additionally acknowledged that these ‘pot-stirrers’ may also be fans who are upset that Ben Affleck isn’t the only Batman in the DCEU anymore, noting, “I also think the Ben Affleck Batman thing has riled people up the wrong way.”

However, when contacted by Small Screen for comment on the rumors of Pattinson’s salacious on-set behavior, a Warner Bros. respresentative told site writer Edward Lauer, “There is no truth in those rumors.”

Going into greater detail, a separate representative told Lauer “that Reeves and Pattinson have devoted themselves to doing the DC Comics character of Batman justice and are excited for audiences to see The Batman when it’s released in cinemas on March 4th, 2022.”

After that, Reeves will explore police corruption in the Gotham PD series coming to HBO Max while Pattinson will be developing movies and TV shows as part of a deal that encompasses the previously mentioned streamer, Warner Bros. Television, and WB Pictures.
