“Hey guys, just checking in. Look, I’ve been kind of on the fence about this for a while and that’s why I never spoke on it,” said Hanks in a video uploaded to Instagram.

He continued, “but with the amount of people that I know, recently, that have gotten COVID, and with the numbers rising, I think it’s important for me to say: I got the vaccine.”

“I think everybody should. I think it’s very important that we all do this as citizens, as Americans, we have to look out for each other and get this s—t under control, so I suggest to all my followers that you guys set an appointment and get the vaccine first thing…SIKE, b—h!” he abruptly stopped, before turning to criticize both the idea of COVID-19 vaccination and the continued implementation of mask mandates.

“If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I never had COVID! You ain’t sticking me with that motherf—ing needle. It’s the motherf—ing flu. Get over it, okay?” Hanks continued.

He then adds, “If you’re sick, stay inside! If you’re in danger, stay your a— inside. I’m tired of wearing a motherf—ing mask!”

Interestingly, Hanks’ parents were some of the first Hollywood celebrities to publicly announce that they had contracted the virus, revealing in March of last year that the had been isolated in an Australian hospital in order to prevent the disease from spreading.

At the time, Tom Hanks wrote, “Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”

He continued, “Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?”

Unsurprisingly, Chet Hanks’ Instagram rant did not go unnoticed, as he has since received quite a lot of flak from various users on social media, with some even resorting to calling him names for simply voicing his opinion on the matter.

In response to the backlash, Hanks decided to double down on his aforementioned stances, sharing yet another video to his Instagram.

“I’m going to keep this real simple for you, guys. Real simple,” said Hanks. “Just like you have the right to be mad at me [because] I said I’m not going to get the vaccine, that ‘Ooh, I can’t believe he said that, I’m so mad!’ Just like you have the right to be mad, I have the right to not get that s—t, you know.”

He continued, “I wanted to, but my immune system said it’s good, okay? It doesn’t need to be tampered with. It said it’s good, okay? Let’s be real, 99% of you, motherf—ers, wouldn’t use a shampoo that’s not FDA-approved, but you’re willing to get some experimental government injection.”

“There’s more evidence for UFOs being real than that vaccine being healthy for you. Just saying. If the aliens are out there, [I’m] ready for you all to come get me. Let’s get the f—k out of here, or am I going to need my vaccine papers?”

On the 27th of July, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that fully-vaccinated Americans would once again be required to wear masks indoors in regions where the COVID-19 virus has been rapidly spreading.

According to the latest update provided by the CDC, people who have been fully vaccinated can “participate in many of the activities that you did before the pandemic,” but they will still be required to wear masks indoors in order to “maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading it to others.”

After more than a year since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, some people have grown tired of mask mandates, especially those who have been complying with the CDC’s safety measures and were led to get both jabs of the vaccine.

Even more aggravating is the fact that, in an attempt to encourage the population to get the COVID-19 vaccine, President Joe Biden previously stated that those who have been fully vaccinated did not need to wear a mask any more.

Folks, if you’re fully vaccinated — you no longer need to wear a mask,” tweeted Biden in May. “If you’re not vaccinated yet — go to vaccines.gov to find a shot, and mask up until you’re fully vaccinated.
