Justice League’s Ray Fisher Says A Comeback As Cyborg Is Possible When The Warner-Discovery Merger is Finalized

After all, Ray Fisher might not have sabotaged his career, or that’s at least what he thinks. The actor whose career was just getting started believes there is a chance of returning to the DCEU as Cyborg after WarnerMedia’s merger with Discovery goes through.

During a panel appearance at Megacon in Florida (covered by Geekosity), Fisher stated he thinks a return is possible if there is a demand for it, and uses The Snyder Cut to make his point.

“I can’t really speak on that. I don’t really know too much the inner workings of corporate mergers but you never know,” he said. “I mean, they said the Snyder Cut didn’t exist. They said it was impossible.”

Fisher added to “give it time.” “They said it for years and years, so you know. Give it time and the appetite for it. If people want to, eventually, I think it’s possible.”

Possible, yes, as with anything but it would really depend on receiving an apology from Warner and DC Films President Walter Hamada if he remains in power over there.

“For me, there’s a lot of stuff behind the scenes,” Fisher began. “Obviously, I’ve not been a stranger or I’ve not been shy rather about talking about the things that occurred over the last year. The back and forth that I’ve had personally and publicly with Warner Bros. Pictures, Walter Hamada, and the rest of the crew over there for me.”

He would continue, “I think it all starts with an apology from the Warner Bros. side of things.” He then clarified again that he will “definitely not be supporting a Walter Hamada production, period.”

So the possibility likely remains remote barring a miracle. DC, of course, is hanging onto the parts of the Snyderverse they like: including Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ezra Miller as The Flash.

Ben Affleck is wearing the cape for at least one more appearance in Flash’s (not-so) solo time bender of an adventure and JK Simmons is reportedly in talks to reprise Commissioner Gordon in Batgirl. Zack Snyder, however, is moving onto Netflix and may keep DC in the rearview.

Fisher’s crusade started last year by targeting Joss Whedon for conduct allegedly taking place on the set of Justice League. Whedon was deposed and appears to be blackballed by Hollywood yet Fisher kept his storm moving and took aim at Hamada who wasn’t even working at DC Films in 2017. However, Hamada had been working with New Line Cinema since 2007. New Line Cinema is a label of Warner Bros. Pictures Group.

Accusing Hamada of enabling, racism, and meddling in the Justice League investigation, Fisher spoke out on social media consistently for a year but, while presenting some examples and testimony, his accusations still aren’t proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

WarnerMedia’s own investigator commented publicly they could find no evidence of interference by Hamada.

What do you make of Fisher’s comments? Would you want to see him return as Cyborg?
