At the beginning of the month of October, The Hollywood Reporter’s Tatiana Siegel, Chris Gardner, and Borys Kit claimed Wright was espousing anti-vaccine views on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

They wrote, “A number of performers, from Rob Schneider (now shooting Netflix’s Home Team) to Letitia Wright (filming Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever) have shared anti-vaccine positions on social media.”

“In Wright’s case, a set source says she has espoused similar views about the COVID-19 vaccines on the Atlanta production,” THR continued.

They also added, “The British actress quietly parted ways with her entire U.S. team of representatives in the wake of a backlash over posting a controversial anti-vaccine video in December.”

Wright responded to THR’s claim that she was sharing anti-vaccine views on the set of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on her Instagram account.

She shared an image of a suit of an armor accompanied with a quote from Isaiah 54:17, which states, “Weapons made to attack you won’t be successful; words spoken against you won’t hurt at all.”

Along with this image, Wright wrote, “God bless you all. It saddens me to have to address he reports published by The Hollywood Reporter on October 6th 2021. The report spoke about my conduct on the set of black Panther 2. I honestly assert that this was completely untrue.”

“Anyone who knows me or has worked with me, knows that I work incredibly hard at my craft & my main focus is always to do work that’s impactful and inspiring. That has been & will continue to be my only focus,” Wright asserted.

The actress added, “I will continue to hold onto Gods hands, and onto the scripture of Isaiah 54:17. I continue to focus on my healing. Thank you for your prayers. And I continue to pray for Gods love, peace & joy for you all. God bless you. Letitia.”

While Wright addressed THR’s claim she was expressing anti-vaccine views, she did not address their assertion that she fired her PR team after she shared a video in December that questioned what the COVID-19 vaccines would contain.

Back in December 2020, Wright shared a YouTube video from On The Table, where the channel’s hosts expressed concerns towards the COVID-19 vaccines.

The video was eventually removed from YouTube, but a clip of the ideo was shared to the Rig Nation Instagram page

After sharing the video, Wright would receive significant backlash on Twitter. In response to this backlash, she first tweeted, “if you don’t conform to popular opinions. but ask questions and think for yourself….you get cancelled.”

This did not satisfy those who took issue with her sharing of the YouTube video. One user wrote, “Advocating dangerous ideas is the not same as thinking for yourself. You have platform and voice that reaches many and what you do with it matters. So incredibly disappointed. What a f***ing letdown you are.”

Wright responded, “His main point is what is in it and is it safe for our bodies to take. I took that point from it. If it disappoints you that I would simply ask this. Then my bad.”

Wright would eventually issue a final statement following the backlash.

She wrote, “my intention was not to hurt anyone, my ONLY intention of posting the video was it raised my concerns with what the vaccine contains and what we are putting in our bodies. Nothing else.”
