Morbius Gets New Synopsis Ahead Of New Trailer Release

Columbia Pictures released a new synopsis for their upcoming Morbius film ahead of an upcoming new trailer for the film.

The synopsis states, “Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble.”

It continues, “While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?”

This new synopsis comes as Fandango announced a new trailer for the film will arrive tomorrow.

They tweeted, “A NEW TRAILER IS COMING TOMORROW.”

A first trailer for the film was released back in January 2020 when the film was supposed to arrive in the summer of 2020.

That trailer, seen above, created quite a bit of buzz about the film given it included a poster of Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man suit from the PlayStation 4 Marvel’s Spider-Man video game. That suit became available in the game via DLC.

Not only did it include Maguire’s Spider-Man suit, but Michael Keaton appearing to reprise his role as Vulture from the Marvel Cinematic Universe also showed up in a stinger scene at the end of the trailer.

Keaton’s character confronts Morbius saying, “What’s up doc?” However, he can also be heard saying, “Michael Morbius, got tired of doing the old good-guy thing huh?”

Morbius stars Jared Leto as the titular character. It also features Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson.

The film is directed by Daniel Espinosa based off a scree story and screenplay by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The movie is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Lucas Foster. Louise Rosner and Emma Ludbrook are executive producers.

The movie is expected to hit theaters on January 28, 2022.
