A video of singer Demi Lovato, wherein she attention-seeking artist can be seen serenading a ghost in order to help it overcome trauma purportedly induced by sexism, has recently been garnering quite the attention online.

This particular moment happened during the second episode of the singer’s NBCUniversal-produced, Peacock-exclusive paranormal series, Unidentified with Demi Lovato, wherein Lovato purports to “search for the truth about the UFO phenomena.”

In the episode, The Star People, Lovato, a close friend, and paranormal investigator Chris Smith venture into an abandoned gold mining town in Vulture City, Arizona, where spirits, UFOs, and extra terrestrials are said to roam the land.

Using a Ghost EMF Detector, a device which emits a beeping sound every time these alleged paranormal entities attempt to contact Lovato, the woke singer manages to start a conversation of sorts with a supposed ghost.

Interestingly, the ghost seems to be bothered by the presence of the men in the party — according to the singer, at least — and they are soon instructed to leave the room so Lovato can communicate with it.

The singer then proceeds to tell the men that the ghost suffered from trauma, itself possibly induced by sexism. Attempting to heal the ghost’s past trauma, Lovato then decides to sing Skyscraper – one of the woke artist’s own singles from 2011 – to the entity.

What’s even more interesting is the fact that the ghost couldn’t tell that Lovato identifies as non-binary. In May of this year, the woke performer shared a video on social media in which she disclosed that she wanted people to start using they/them pronouns when addressing her.

“Today is a day I’m so happy to share more of my life with you all- I am proud to let you know that I identify as non-binary & will officially be changing my pronouns to they/them moving forward,” Lovato tweeted at the time.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that Lovato didn’t identify as non-binary at the time of the ghost-exclusive performance, but it is refreshing to see that even paranormal entities respected the artist’s then-female identity and didn’t ask her to leave the room like her male companions.

Lovato isn’t even the first woke celebrity who has claimed to communicate with ghosts. In 2019, woke actress Kristen Stewart, known for her roles in the Twilight franchise and the box office flop that was the new Charlie’s Angels, claimed that she also seemingly has the ability to contact paranormal entities.

In an interview with Vanity Fair given whilst promoting Personal Shopper, a film wherein Stewart’s character attempts to communicate with her deceased brother, the actress was asked whether she believed in ghosts, to which she revealed, “I talk to them”.

“If I’m in a weird, small town, making a movie, and I’m in a strange apartment, I will literally be like, ‘No, please, I cannot deal. Anyone else, but it cannot be me,’” said Stewart. “Who knows what ghosts are, but there is an energy that I’m really sensitive to. Not just with ghosts, but with people. People stain rooms all the time.”
