Fans Rally On Social Media To Get Fifth Season For Young Justice

Young Justice: Phantoms is in the middle of a midseason break so the narrative isn’t wrapped up yet by what viewers expect to be a blowout of a finale. How the second half does should decide if this fourth season gives way to a fifth, but the fans can’t wait.

Although it’s HBO Max’s move to make, those fans have started a trend with the hashtag #RenewYoungJustice to get that next season. And why not? A social media campaign worked before when bringing Zack Snyder’s Justice League to streaming screens as well as in the case of getting the current season of Young Justice.

A former pride and joy of cable TV, the show was previously canceled by its former home Cartoon Network in 2013. It remained in limbo for years until the audience petitioned for a new season that was picked up by the WarnerMedia-owned streamer, DC Universe.

No one wanted to see a new season of Young Justice more than showrunner Greg Weisman, so naturally, he is desirous of another one after Phantoms. He has a strange if predictable remedy, though – binge the whole series, a lot.

“If fans want more Earth-16 [the universe where the series takes place],” he wrote on his website back in October, “the answer is simple: #KeepBingingYJ (all four seasons) over and over. And over and over. And help us #SpreadTheWord. We want to #SaveEarth16.”

He later doubled down on Twitter when he announced the full season order of Phantoms was completed, at a count of 24 episodes.

“#YoungJusticePhantoms now has TWENTY-FOUR episodes in the can, i.e. totally complete,” Weisman posted. “The last two just need to finish closed captioning, and we’ll be done. So if you want more, #KeepBingingYJ to #SaveEarth16!”

Well, the people are on board. Helping #RenewYoungJustice trend are posts from @PromisedBat who writes, “HBO Max really needs to renew Young Justice because it’s my favorite animated show in the service along with all the other cool DC stuff.”

He adds, “Can we please get a Season 5? @hbomax #RenewYoungJustice”

Fan @SwiftlyMatched wants to see more Young Justice and especially more of voice actor Zeno Robinson as Cyborg.

“We love voice actors supporting the show!” said @SwiftlyMatched, “thanks for helping us trend #RenewYoungJustice zeno!! your work is phenomenal and we hope to see much more of you in coming episodes/seasons :)”

She added, “@hbomax @warnerbrostv let’s do this !!”

Robinson, by the way, throws out that Wally will be back if Weisman has anything to say about it. “Hey totally take my word for it but @Greg_Weisman told me in secret that if we #RenewYoungJustice that he’d 100% totally no fooling bring back Wally,” he tweeted.

However, he did add the caveat, “Source: just trust me bro.”
