Actor Wayne T. Carr Shows What He Looked Like As Green Lantern In Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Calls For Sequels

A Green Lantern was meant to be in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and it was none other than John Stewart. Unfortunately, he was cut at the request of Warner Bros. and replaced with Martian Manhunter.

Played by Harry Lennix, who also portrayed U.S. Secretary of Defense Calvin Swanwick, the Manhunter was long-suspected to be living secretly among humans the whole time. Given that suspicion, his cameo felt appropriate.
By Snyder really wanted to factor Stewart into the picture, so much so that he went as far as casting and filming a scene in his driveway. The actor he selected to wear the ring was Wayne T. Carr and Carr, for somebody whose appearance was left on the editing room floor, has become a passionate supporter of the Snyderverse.

Wanting everyone to know where he stands and to see how he looked as Stewart after speaking the Oath, Carr shared the first image of himself in costume with that post-production green glow. And for good measure, he made clear he wants WB to show us the sequels.
“Give the fans what they want- JL 2/3,” Carr wrote on Twitter whilst posting the aforementioned image. He closed with the hashtag #RestoreTheSnyderverse and the opening three words of the Lantern’s Oath: “In brightest day…”

Justice League 2 and 3 were planned and thoroughly storyboarded but never finished. At the point when Darkseid had conquered Earth and gotten control of Superman’s mind, Hal Jordan was supposed to join the team and the fight before dark Supes catches up to them and decimates everybody.
Lantern involvement would’ve begun with Stewart greeting Bruce Wayne and warning him about Darkseid. Warner prohibited the scene’s inclusion because they wanted to keep their plans for John Stewart and Hal restricted to the Green Lantern series coming to HBO Max – and possibly the Green Lantern Corps movie that’s been in development limbo for years.

Whether that changes and we get those Justice League sequels we’ve heard so much about is in Warner’s hands. They are going through a transition as they pass into Discovery’s hands which offer a ray of hope to the Restore the Snyderverse movement that remains active.
However, the progress on that front – where there is any – is a slow crawl and, what’s more, there is no telling what moves the new CEO David Zaslav will make until he makes them; let alone how they’ll affect the DCEU.
