DC movies aren’t the only thing being delayed at WarnerMedia anymore. Hold-ups have now crept into their gaming IPs and overtaken Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

With a heavy heart, Rocksteady Creative Director Sefton Hill, who has the Kill the Justice League logo as his profile photo, announced on Twitter the game won’t be out until 2023 for reasons of “making the best game we can.”
“We’ve made the difficult decision to delay Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to Spring 2023,” Hill wrote. “I know a delay is frustrating but that time is going into making the best game we can. I look forward to bringing the chaos to Metropolis together. Thanks for your patience.”

This news marks a slowdown in Rocksteady’s DC output that normally hit shelves like clockwork in the days of production on the Batman Arkham series.
Their last installment in that franchise, Arkham Knight, came out eight years ago with the VR version releasing soon after – meaning Kill the Justice League and players awaiting it are experiencing a long drought.
It’s a bit ironic when the game was a showcase at DC FanDome two years in a row, at the first event in 2020 and at the third in October of 2021.

Still, Rocksteady taking its time is better than rushing a lackluster product out to the market, and gamers following Kill the Justice League’s progress are well aware of this after the debacles that were Cyberpunk 2077 and the WWE2K series to date.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League turned out to be one of two secret DC projects Warner Bros. Interactive was working on. Gotham Knights was the other.

Word of the games leaked when domain name listings with their titles made it to the Internet ahead of their grand FanDome debuts.
Gotham Knights actually joins Kill the Justice League in the delay line queued up for 2023. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Hogwarts Legacy are in that line after facing delays as well.

An official description of the game reads, “Featuring an original narrative set within an expansive open-world Metropolis, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts the four DC Super-Villains on a collision course with an invading alien force and DC Super Heroes who are now laser-focused on destroying the city they once vowed to protect.”
“All the while, the squad must be mindful of the lethal explosives implanted in their heads that could go off at the first sign of defiance,” the description concludes.
