Marvel’s She-Hulk Star Jameela Jamil Responds To Criticism Of Her Live-Action Titania “I Accept Every Ounce Of Shade Here”

Following a less-than-favorable response to a recent first look at her upcoming live-action depiction of Marvel villain Titania in the upcoming Disney Plus series, She-Hulk star Jameela Jamil has declared that she has accepted “every ounce of shade” leveled the image’s way.

Briefly seen near the end of She-Hulk’s first trailer bursting into a courtroom and coming to blows with the Jade Giantess, Jamil’s Titania received a proper preview on July 8th, courtesy of a new set of series promotional images released by Disney themselves.
Featured wearing a costume more akin to Marvel Comics hero Jackpot’s standard outfit than the established super villain’s signature look and of a quality that would make even the most amateur of cosplayers scoff, Jamil’s rendition of Titana was quick to draw widespread criticisms from fans from across the spectrum.

Amidst a storm of similar jokes and criticisms, Jamil herself took to her personal Twitter to acknowledge fans’ feedback, taking note of @PopCrave’s specific sharing of the image and playfully responding, “Omg this photo…Guys… I accept every ounce of shade here”.
“But in defense of my excellent hair stylist, this is just my hair after a 14 hour stunt day in Atlanta heat. Just after being upside down,” she added, sharing a video of her in the stylist’s chair. “She did a *great* job on the show I promise. I love her. Boobs look ok tho?”

Unfortunately for Jamil, it may be too late to convince even the most hardcore of MCU fans that the next entry in Marvel’s Phase 4 will be worth their time.
According to previous insight into the series provided by Collider Senior Film Reporter Jeff Sneider, reporting on “something that [he had] heard more than once,” Jen Walters’ live-action debut “is not shaping up to be very good.”

“I’ve heard not good things behind the scenes,” said the industry reporter during a March 24th episode of his and noted film critic John Rocha’s podcast, The Hot Mic.“I’ve, you know, asked about, whether it’s Moon Knight, or Ms. Marvel, or Secret Invasion, or any of these things, they’re always like, ‘She-Hulk is the one that could be a problem.’”
“Pushed for clarification by Rocha, “but you’re not hearing the people who’ve seen it and it’s terrible,” Sneider replied, “No, I’ve heard it from people working on it. From people actually working on it, who are just like, ‘We’ll see.’”

“I think that’s a lot of Marvel things honestly, where it’s just like, ‘Well, this could be really stupid, we’ll see,’” opined Sneider. “I’m sure people making Guardians of the Galaxy felt that way, right? And most of the time, [Marvel] pull it out, but there will come a time where they won’t. That’s just the laws of movie making, that’s the laws of numbers.”
