After Claiming Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel Would Be At “The Forefront” Of The MCU, Kevin Feige Now Says Kamala Khan “Essentially Steals ‘The Marvels'”

Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige recently asserted that Kamala Khan will steal the show in the upcoming The Marvels film.

Just four years after stating that Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel would “take the lead and be at the forefront of the entire Cinematic Universe,” Kevin Feige is now claiming that Kamala Khan is going to steal the show in the sequel to Captain Marvel, The Marvels.
Back in 2019, Feige said, “One of the highlights of my career at Marvel was introducing [Brie Larson] at Comic-Con and having her come out on stage and stand there with literally almost everybody else from our movies.”
He added, “There she was at the forefront, and it was a great foreshadowing – not just for how audiences are going to embrace Brie as this character, but also for how Captain Marvel is about to take the lead and be at the forefront of the entire Cinematic Universe.”

However, it doesn’t appear that Larson’s Captain Marvel will be at the forefront of the Marvel Cinematic Universe let alone the sequel to her Captain Marvel film.
Feige recently told Entertainment Weekly, “I’m very proud of the Ms. Marvel show. I also know — and this is a spoiler — she essentially steals The Marvels, which is coming out [July 28].”
Not only did he claim that she will steal the show in the movie, but he seemingly pointed to the lack of viewership for the Disney+ shows as he’s hoping people will go see the shows after viewing the film, “It makes me excited that people will, I hope, see that movie and then go back and revisit those shows on Disney+. the fun thing about streaming is they are there forever, and people can keep re-exploring them.”

Later in the interview, Feige would be asked about the dynamic between Larson, Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, and Teyonah Parris’s Monica Rambeau.
He responded, “That’s what the entire movie is about. There are fun cosmic elements to it. Marvel comic fans will recognize elements of the Kree-Skrull war. And it’s picking up directly after the end of Captain Marvel 1, not in timeline but in story. We also do that in our upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion, and those are two very different follow-ups to that movie.”
Feige continued, “Tonally, they couldn’t be more different. But there’s something immensely powerful about seeing Monica and Kamala and Carol together in a frame. To me, it’s only akin to the first Avengers movie and seeing the six of them together in a frame. It’s chill-inducing. They’re so great together, and they all have different histories with one another.”
“The great thing about Kamala in her show, and now in this movie, is that she’s not unlike Tom Holland’s Peter Parker in Civil War. She can’t believe she’s with these other heroes, and can’t believe that she finds herself in these places. And that’s fun because we want to be that. I want to be that,” he concluded.

Larson hasn’t really been in a major film since Captain Marvel in 2019 albeit she did cameo in the Ms. Marvel Disney+ series last year.
She’s mainly been relegated to terrible Nissan commercials, exposing herself on social media, and most recently an appearance in a creepy Hellman’s Mayonnaise commercial with Jon Hamm and the insufferable Pete Davidson.
She did recently use the creepy mayonnaise commercial to get on her pedestal and preach though foreshadowing what we can expect for the press around The Marvels.
Larson told Entertainment Weekly, “This felt like I was able to take the narrative back from a lifetime of people looking at my mom or looking at me and being like, ‘Oh, did your mom eat a bunch of cheese when she was pregnant with you?’ It was so many years of correcting my name and telling people, ‘Oh, it’s Brie, like the cheese.’ And then it finally all came together and had a meaning, and the meaning was to do this commercial with John Hamm.”

Not only did she turn the commercial into some kind of personal justice moment, but she also used it to pontificate about waste, “Part of the fun of it was talking about food waste and how much we throw out. On top of doing something that was fun for me and I think will be fun for viewers to watch on the big day, it’s also about a very real thing, which is that we throw out a lot of waste. We can repurpose food and make it something that is delicious, wonderful, and doesn’t have to be thrown in the trash.”
The commercial, seen above, does not have anything to do with food waste — there’s a brief mention of leftovers. So it’s unclear if Larson is either lying to appear virtuous or she was lied to.

Regardless, the fact she’s doing creepy mayonnaise commercials and she’s apparently outshone by a derivative character in her sequel film shows just how much she hurt herself by embracing the evil woke ideology of identity politics during the press tour for Captain Marvel.
