A new rumor claims to reveal how the upcoming Ahsoka series starring Rosario Dawson will conclude.

This new rumor comes from Making Star Wars, who has a track record of successful Star Wars scoops including a previous scoop that claimed Grogu would ride around in IG-11 in Season 3 of The Mandalorian, a scoop that was most recently confirmed in Episode 7 of The Mandalorian Season 3.

According to Making Star Wars, the season is split in half with the first four episodes focused on the New Republic while the final four episodes are focused on Ahsoka and Sabine trying to locate Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger.

From there the outlet claims Ahsoka and Sabine are not only trying to locate Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger, but they also attempt to prevent Thrawn from returning to the main Star Wars galaxy. To this end Ahsoka and Sabine fail.

Making Star Wars asserts, “Thrawn does return at what I believe is the climax of the 8th and final episode of the season.”

Not only does Thrawn return, but he comes with a host of allies ready to do battle against the New Republic, “Thrawn exits his ship’s gantry (I think), back from the unknown region, with his forces all laid out before him like a badass. Thrawn takes in the moment, looks at his allies, including the powerful Nightsisters, fallen Jedi, Stormtroopers held together by magic, and his gold faced bodyguard named Enoch.” He then apparently revels in the moment and “promises a reckoning is coming.”

Grand Admiral Thrawn was previously hinted at in The Mandalorian Season 2 when Ahsoka confronts The Magistrate, defeats her in single combat, and then questions her, “Where is Grand Admiral Thrawn?”

Thrawn is confirmed to appear in Ahsoka. The first trailer for the upcoming series revealed Thrawn makes an appearance and that he will be played by Lars Mikkelsen, who previously voiced the character in Star Wars Rebels.

Not only is Thrawn confirmed to be part of the Ahsoka series, but his presence was also referenced in the most recent episode of The Mandalorian.

During one of the opening scenes, Moff Gideon takes part in a Shadow Council composed of a number of Imperial warlords including Gilad Pellaeon, who in the Expanded Universe became Grand Admiral Thrawn’s right hand man when he chose the Chimaera as his flagship, the Star Destroyer that Pellaeon previously commanded.

In The Mandalorian, Pellaeon informs the Shadow Council that they should belay confronting the New Republic until Thrawn returns. He says, “But that strength must not be wasted. Grand Admiral Thrawn’s return will herald in the reemergence of our military and provide Commandant Hux enough time to deliver on Project Necromancer.”

Grand Admiral Thrawn and his Imperial forces were previously defeated by the Lothal rebels that primarily consisted of Hera Syndulla, Kanan Jarrus, Chopper, Garazeb Orrelios, Sabine Wren, and Ezra Bridger.

During a bombardment of the capital city of Lothal, Bridger confronts Thrawn on the bridge of the Chimaera, and proceeds to take control of a group of Purrgil that jump to hyperspace with Thrawn and the ship in tow despite the bridge being exposed to the nature of space. It’s never revealed where the Purrgil jump to, but clearly Thrawn somehow survived.

The official description for Ahsoka reads, “Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.”

The series stars Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla. It is written by Dave Filoni, who also executive produces with Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilcrhist is an executive producer.

The series is set to arrive on Disney+ in August 2023.
