Variety initially announced Shafer would take on the role of Tigris Snow in the upcoming film back in June 2022. For those unfamiliar with the The Hunger Games property, Tigris Snow is the cousin of Corioloanus Snow, who would eventually become the president of Panem.

In The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Snow’s character was portrayed by Eugenie Bondurant and was a stylist for the Hunger Games. The character had also physically altered her appearance through a number of surgical enhancements so that she could look more like a tiger even giving herself whiskers.

Lionsgate recently released the first official trailer for the upcoming prequel film and it showcased Shafer’s version of the character.

This is a clear attempt to normalize the idea that men can become women and women can become men. An idea that is an impossibility. No matter how many hormones one injects to oneself or how many surgical procedures one gets one cannot change their God-given sex.

Genesis 1:27 also states, “God created mankind in his image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.”

Pope Francis also made this abundantly clear speaking with Aleteia, “Let us not play with truths. It’s true that behind all this we find gender ideology. In books, kids learn that it’s possible to change one’s sex. Could gender, to be a woman or to be a man, be an option and not a fact of nature? This leads to this error. Let us call things by their names.”

Bishop Michael Burbidge also explains, “We know from biology that a person’s sex is genetically determined at conception and present in every cell of the body. Because the body tells us about ourselves, our biological sex does in fact indicate our inalienable identity as male or female.

“Thus, so-called ‘transitioning’ might change a person’s appearance and physical traits (hormones, breasts, genitalia, etc.) but does not in fact change the truth of the person’s identity as male or female, a truth reflected in every cell of the body. Indeed, no amount of ‘masculinizing’ or ‘feminizing’ hormones or surgery can make a man into a woman, or a woman into a man,” he elaborated.

Not only does the film feature a man pretending to be a woman in the role of a woman, but it also features a self-admitted racist, Rachel Zegler, who plays the leading role of Lucy Gray Baird.

Zegler admitted she was a racist back in May 2020 when she tweeted, “If you think using my platform as any decent human being should is ‘barking orders’, hahaha. Ok. I have donated, shared, and will continue to educate myself on the never ending racism that I— and many other white/white passing people— am to blame for. Do the same. Be well.”
