The Guardian is out in force promoting Batman #44 as somehow confronting police racism. However, is this truly the case? I hope by the end of this article this question is answered, but along the way I also intend to correct some blatant misinformation Spencer Ackerman spreads about Batman #44 and letting you know what really happened in this issue.

It has been recently reported by Bleeding Cool that a push towards “Positive Reinforcement” has been made at DC Comics in order to bring more female and ethnic creators into their creative pool. But while Bleeding Cool’s Rich Johnston would like to classify all criticism as racist and sexist, it is actually easy to criticize such methods, and their current context, as they may indeed have a negative impact on diversity and creativity.

I’m not sure what it is about people trying to turn Batman into a villain or the actual real villains he is out to stop into some kind of heroes. First we had Jef Rouner believing the Joker is the hero of The Dark Knight and now we have Patrick Dane at What Culture detailing the “5 Reasons Why Batman Is Really A Bad Guy.” When will they get it? Batman is a good guy and to prove it, let’s debunk Patrick’s article.

Superman is put in a tough position, having to make a decision on the fly without all of the information. He does what seems right to him at the moment and defends the (mostly) innocent protesters. His intentions are clearly noble, but it leaves one wondering what negative consequences might come from his actions.
