There isn’t much going on in the pages of Batman #36, and that’s absolutely fine. The landscape narrated by the words of Tom King and painted by Clay Mann, Seth Mann and Jordie Bellaire is as bright and hopeful as it is dark and terrifying.
“The Rules of Engagement” part 3 is a phenomenal finale in Tom King’s Batman #35. Batman and Catwoman are looking to move forward. They have plans; they have family.
Tom King continues his rule with the latest installment in “The Rules of Engagement” arc in Batman #34. It’s an entertaining few pages that continue the high standard set by the previous arcs.
Despite a lack of action, Batman #33 is still a great success. Tom King is looking to put real work into developing these characters. He breathes life by giving them actual emotions, not just reactions.
Batman #30 is a fantastic blend of Batman’s gangster origins and modern comic sensibilities. The Mann brothers and Jordie Bellaire bring this deadly war to life with incredible detail and ease.
In All-Star Batman #12, the series begins its conclusion with more of a yawn than a roar. Alfred seeming out of character may be in context with the story, but Batman himself seems to be too naive to be his usual, remarkably suspicious self.
