Netflix Renews The Umbrella Academy for Season 2
Netflix confirmed the Dark Horse Comics adaptation of Umbrella Academy has been renewed for Season 2.
In a video posted to the Umbrella Academy’s Instagram website, Season 2 was confirmed. You can check out the video below.
Season 2 will see the return of actors Ellen Page, Tom Hopper, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, Aidan Gallagher, and Justin Min. They will be joined by Steve Blackman, who will return as Showrunner and Executive Producer.
Other Executive Producers returning for Season 2 include Jeff F. King, Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, Gerard Way, and Gabriel Bá.
Universal Content Productions (UCP) will produce the second season, which will be 10 one-hour episodes. Production for season two is expected to begin this summer in Toronto, Canada.
Umbrella Academy is adapted from the Dark Horse Comics series created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. The first series was a six-issue limited series titled [easyazon_link identifier=”B01663Z6BM” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]The Umbrella Academy: Apocalypse Suite[/easyazon_link]which released its first issue in September of 2007. Way and Bá have gone on to create two more series in addition to the first one. The third series [easyazon_link identifier=”1506711421″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]The Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion[/easyazon_link] just wrapped up last month.
