DreamWorks TV and Netflix’s upcoming animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power got a new release date.
The show will now be releasing on November 13th of this year instead of November 16th.

DreamWorks TV also released a brand new trailer for the show.
It’s unclear why the release date was moved up three days. A statement from DreamWorks makes the case it’s because of fan anticipation for the show.
“With fan anticipation reaching a fever pitch, DreamWorks Animation Television is excited to announce that She-Ra and the Princesses of Power will now debut November 13th exclusively on Netflix.”
However, it’s more than likely DreamWorks TV and Netflix didn’t want the show to directly compete with what will most likely be a monster at the November box office in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
Box Office Pro indicates that Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald had the highest interest among those surveyed with an 84% total “positive interest” score. The film is expected to have a decent opening with long range estimates predicting between $70 to $80 million at the domestic box office.
The first Fantastic Beasts film, [easyazon_link identifier=”B01N0AEYU6″ locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them[/easyazon_link] made over $814 million at the global box office.
It’s also possible that Netflix didn’t want to crowd out other family and kids oriented shows that they have releasing on November 16th. Those shows include Prince of Peoria, Ponysitters Club, and The Princess Switch.
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power comes to Netflix on November 13, 2018.
What do you think about the change of date? What do you think is the reason behind Netflix moving up the release date?
