Rain Mikamura is one of the primary characters in Mobile Fighter G Gundam or Mobile Fighting Legend G Gundam as it is known in Japan. The series debuted in 1994 and was the fifth installment in the Gundam franchise from Sunrise. The series was the first one set outside the Universal Century. It was set in the “Future Century.” In the “Future Century” space colonies created a tournament called the “Gundam Fight” to settle political differences. The tournament is held each year and requires each colony to send a fighter.

The series followed Neo Japan’s Domon Kasshu and his Shining Gundam during the 13th Gundam Fight as he attempts to not only win the tournament, but also track down his brother who is suspected of stealing the Devil Gundam.

Rain Mikamura appeared in the first episode of Mobile Fighter G Gundam and aided Domon as his mechanic following the orders of her father. However, before she became his mechanic, she was studying to become a doctor.

Rain would eventually become the Core Life Unit for the Devil Gundam. The Devil Gundam would feed off Rain’s negative emotions and meld with the Neo Japan colony. She would be freed from the Devil Gundam’s control after Domon expressed his love for her. The two would then dispatch the Devil Gundam with the Bakunetsu God Sekiha Love Love Tenkyoken technique.

Along with the Devil Gundam and Shining Gundam, Rain also piloted the Rising Gundam as well as a Bud Carrier.

Rain Mikamura is voiced by Yuri Amano. Jennifer Holder provides the English dub. Rain appears in episodes 1 through 49 of Mobile Fighter G Gundam.
