The first official Ghostbusters: Afterlife has arrived from director Jason Reitman.
Check it out.
We previously got a brand new poster teasing the trailer late last week.
As well as an official description of the film:
“From director Jason Reitman and producer Ivan Reitman, comes the next chapter in the original Ghostbusters universe. In Ghostbusters: Afterlife, when a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind. The film is written by Jason Reitman & Gil Kenan.”
Director Jason Reitman previously described the film as a “love letter to Ghostbusters…I want to make a movie for my fellow Ghostbusters fans.”
He also noted the film would “hand the movie back to the fans.”
The movie stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace, and Paul Rudd.
Along with this new cast Sigourney Weaver confirmed she would be reprising her role as Dana Barrett in the new film.
Parade also reported that Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd would be reprising their roles as Dr. Peter Venkman and Dr. Raymond Stantz.
Aykroyd praised the script back in May and teased the movie would feature “some familiar faces.”
“Ivan Reitman’s son Jason has written a beautiful script, I can’t say too much about it but it’s going to get made and hopefully there’ll be some familiar faces….”
“It’s so different from even the first and second (film)…. This just takes it to a new generation and a new direction that is so warm, heartfelt and indeed, quite scary when you confront some of the issues that are being discussed.”
