Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actress Megan Fox says that her kids go to a vegan school and that she teaches them that plants have “feelings, thoughts, and emotions.”

Fox spoke with People while attending PUBG Mobile’s #Fight4TheAmazon event in Hollywood, where she discussed how she is raising her children.

She told them, “It’s about releasing control, right? That’s all it is.” She continued, “It’s [about] allowing them to be who they are and relinquishing control, because they were born to be who they are, and it’s my job to support the process, not to get involved and micromanage and mold them into what I think they should be.”

She added, “It’s [about] being of that mindset of realizing that they come as the teachers to us.” Fox then stated, “We’re here to keep them alive, but we’re learning all the lessons from them.”

Fox then discussed how she’s sending her kids to vegan school.

“We send them to an organic, sustainable, vegan school where they’re seed-to-table, they plant their own food. They grow it, they harvest it and they take it to local restaurants to sell it, so they understand how all of that works.”

It doesn’t stop there. The actress also takes her family’s vegan lifestyle to almost a Buddhist level of concern for living creatures.

She makes it a point to not harm ants or even pick flowers. Fox states, “I’m very specific about never harming animals. We don’t step on ants; we don’t do things like that. We don’t rip flowers out of the ground, because we think they’re beautiful.”

Though it doesn’t mean that there haven’t been accidents when it comes to the well-being of insects.

She told People that at one point her son “accidentally stepped on a roly-poly.” She added that he was devastated and they even had a funeral for the bug.

Fox described the funeral, “We did a ceremony, we buried it, we lit sage, we released him back. So they’re very involved.”
