Beerus and Whis Discovered in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Files, Hinting at Potential DLC

A dataminer exploring the contents of the recently released Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot have discovered character data for Beerus and Whis, leading to speculation that they may be featured in an upcoming set of downloadable content.

The god-like beings were discovered by YouTuber SLOplays, who accessed the files through the use of the game’s debug mode, which SLOplays states allowed him to “basically have access to the developers game right now.”

As shown by SLOplays, Beerus and Whis, who do not appear in the standard story mode of the game, are completely modeled, animated, and possess their own respective sets of special attacks, indicating that CyberConnect2 and Bandai Namco put a great deal of effort to make these characters unique, rather than just background models.

The extensively crafted existence of Whis and Beerus may hint that the game’s Season Pass, which will add “2 Original Story Episodes” and “1 New Story Arc,” will feature content based on the film Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods. Originally released in 2013, the Akira Toriyama produced film introduced the God of Destruction and his Angelic attendant and featured an original story set in the immediate aftermath of the original series’ conclusion.

Given Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s strict adherence to Dragon Ball canon, fans will most likely see the introduction of Beerus and Whis, and potentially Goku’s Super Saiyan God Form, when Bandai Namco formally announces the additional content.
