Artist SPDRMNKYXXIII recently shared his mock up of Arrow actor David Ramsey’s John Diggle as Green Lantern.

He shared two images, one of a bearded John Diggle and one clean shaven. He captioned the post on Instagram writing, “If the past 8 years has shown us anything… is that this universe is far bigger than any of us could have dared imagine.”

He would follow up that post with another that he describes as “John Diggle / Green Lantern concept art from the previous post.”

In the series finale of Arrow, the show heavily implied that John Diggle would become a Green Lantern. After witnessing some type of spacecraft crash land on Earth and subsequently sending Diggle flying backwards into a van, he discovers a box in the wreckage. Upon opening it, a green light emanates from it.

He would recite the quote SPDRMNKYXIII used in his first Instagram post. However, Diggle would also add, “Even if it is a little less bright without him in it.”

Diggle being a Green Lantern in the Arrowverse has been teased for quite a bit. In the Season 7 episode “Spartan” it is revealed that Diggle has a stepfather named General Roy Stewart, hinting that his legal name might actually be John Stewart.

In the Elseworlds crossover, John Wesley Shipp’s Barry Allen from Earth-90 recognizes Diggle and states, “You are not wearing your ring. Things must be different here.”

Rumor: Greg Berlanti Developing Green Lantern Corps HBO Max Show Featuring Kyle Rayner

It’s quite possible these threads and teases might get picked up in the upcoming HBO Max Green Lantern show produced by Arrow showrunner Greg Berlanti.

Rumors from last August suggested the HBO Max show could feature Kyle Rayner.

There have also been rumors that Ramsey’s Diggle could get his own Green Lantern show on The CW.
