Warner Bros. Japan Releases OP, Unveils Four More DC Super Villains For ‘Suicide Squad Isekai’
While the West continues to disappoint with such offerings as the low-quality Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy and the race-swapped Batman Caped Crusader, a new preview for the Japan-based Wit Studio’s upcoming Suicide Squad ISEKAI is reminding fans of what a good DC animated outing can look like.

This new preview of the ten-episode anime came via the June 21st reveal of its opening credits sequence, as released to the series’ official website.
Set to Tomoyasu Hotei’s big band jazz track Another World and animated by Batman Ninja mastermind Takuji Miyamoto, the OP – which many fans have likened to that of Sunrise’s iconic Cowboy Bebop – not only provided fans with a new glimpse at the series’ visuals, but also visual confirmation of four new additions to the team’s roster.
As seen in the OP, in addition to its previously-revealed members the Joker (CV: Yuuichirou Umehara – Mercphobia in Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest), Harley Quinn (CV: Anna Nagase – Ushio Kofune in Summertime Rendering), Deadshot (CV: Reigo Yamaguchi – Hiroyuki Nishizawa in Bartender Glass of God), Peacemaker (CV: Takehito Koyasu – Gandal in Grendizer U), Clayface (CV: Jun Fukuyama – Clarke in I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons), King Shark (CV: Subaru Kimura – Satori Tendou in Haikyu!!), Katana (CV: Chika Anzai – Sirius in Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World), as well as team coordinators Amanda Waller (CV: Kujira – Rairen in Mato Seihei no Slave) and Rick Flag (CV: Taku Yashiro – Sanosuke Sagara in Rurouni Kenshin), Wit Studios’ take on the Suicide Squad will also include Rat Catcher, The Thinker, Enchantress, and Killer Croc.

Further information regarding this new additions was detailed by Wit Studio on the series’ aforementioned official website.
The first new Squad member to revealed, the former rat exterminator Rat Catcher (CV: Yuuji Ueda -Makoto Kawashita in Mission: Yozakura Family) possess the ability to “communicate with rats” and is is allegedly one of Deadshot’s old prison buddies.
Said to be a brilliant mad scientist with a huge ego, The Thinker (CV: Houchuu Ootsuka – Peltrola in Ranger Reject) uses his Thinking Cap to “enhance his abilities and manipulates minds”.
An ancient witch who “inhabits the body of a kind woman named June Moone”, the red-headed Enchantress (CV: Shizuka Ito – Yoriko Kichijouji in Oshi no Ko) is specifically captured by Waller in order to make use of her “great magical powers.”
And rounding out these rookies is the fan-favorite Batman villain Killer Croc (CV: Taro Kiuchi – Luck in Fluffy Paradise), his green-scaled self described as a “crocodile-like human with extreme strength” who “conquers the underwater realm with super speed and power.”
Alongside the OP and these new character sheets, Wit Studio also published the official synopsis for the series’ first episode, A New World.
“After going on a rampage with her partner-in-crime The Joker, Harley Quinn is sent straight to Belle Reve Penitentiary,” reads the summary. “Now in prison, Harley is selected by Amanda Waller to join her operative Peacemaker and other misfit Super-Villains including Deadshot and Clayface on a top-secret mission in another world!””
Helmed by Director Eri Osada with an original script penned by Re:Zero author Tappei Nagatsuki and his Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song co-creator Eiji Umehara and featuring character designs from Hitman! Reborn and Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective mangaka Akira Amano, the first three episodes of Suicide Squad ISEKAI are currently set to make a break for it on Hulu and MAX on June 27th.
