IDW Hires Steven Scott as PR Manager
IDW Publishing has hired Steven Scott as their new PR Manager. He will oversee the company’s public outreach and social media strategies.
He was recently the PR Manager for the San Francisco-based tech startup, Humble Bundle, where he led a number of successful publicity campaigns for a wide variety of digital content bundles for video games, e-books, and digital comics including IDW’s Transformers and My Little Pony Series.
Scott has taken point on promotions involving renowned creators such as Neil Gaiman, Grant Morrison, Stan Lee, Kevin J. Anderson, and George Takei.
Before working at Humble Bundle, Scott served as the Director of Publicity and Marketing at Archie Comics from 2012 until 2014. He also trained at Marvel Comics as an editorial intern and was accepted into Brian Michael Bendis’ graphic novel writing course at Portland State University.
“2015 was a HUGE year for IDW, with our continued expansion into Games and Entertainment, the opening of the San Diego Comic Art Gallery, not to mention our always aggressive and diverse publishing slate,” said IDW’s VP of Marketing Dirk Wood. “We’re thrilled to have Steven Scott on the team. His experience is critical at this juncture, because 2016 will be even bigger.”
“Joining the team at IDW has been a dream of mine since before I got my start in comics,” added newly minted PR Manager Steven Scott. “Coming to work in a place each day that’s teeming with creativity is exactly why I wanted to get into this business to begin with and IDW has that in spades. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be apart of this publisher that I’ve admired for so long.”
