IDW Launches Five New Original Tales in August

IDW Publishing will be launching their Creator Visions events showcasing five new original tales that showcase new series alongside some fan-favorite titles.

The event begins with the return of the The Adventures of Augusta Wind series by creators J.M> DeMatteis and Vassilis Gogtzilas. This new five issue series, The Adventures of Augusta Wind: The Last Story will conclude the magical tale that began in 2012 and took us to weird worlds and introduced us to bizarre creatures and terrible dangers.

In week two, another series return. Atomic Robo and The Temple of Od will take us back to 1938 as Robo investigates a deadly weapon alongside some unlikely allies in this five issue series.

A brand new series from 2000 AD’s Sinister Dexter co-creator and longtime Judge Dredd artist Max Millgate will arrive in the third week. Jackboot & Ironheel will tell the tale of an English football star turned R.A.F. tail-gunner in the heat of World War II.

Superf*ckers Forever makes its monthly comic book debut. The series first launched as a Top Shelf graphic novel with a corresponding YouTube series. Creator James Kochalka will be bringing along some friends with this series to provide alternate covers as well as backup stories from some big name indie comics talent.

In the last week, Devin Faraci and Vic Malholtra will adapt Jim Thompson’s The Killer Inside Me. The classic pulp novel peeled back the curtain in terrifying detail on Lou Ford, the deputy of a small Texas town who just can’t keep his sickness to himself any longer…

“This five-week release schedule really showcases the width and breadth of creativity of our schedule,” said Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer. “From very indie titles to all-ages fantasy and adventure to a vivid adaptation of one of the best American crime novels of the past century, these titles really offer something for everyone and showcase the types of diverse creativity on display every month at IDW.”

All five of these books debut in August!
