Marvel Announces the Return of Uncanny X-Men!

Uncanny X-Men

Marvel announced they will relaunch Uncanny X-Men sometime this November. They did not announce a creative team or any other details.

They did release a logo:

And one fan captured a photo from the panel:

Uncanny X-Men was originally launched in 1963 and was the longest running X-Men series in the franchise. The title was originally created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and was cancelled in 1970. However, it would be relaunched in 1975’s Uncanny X-Men #94 under David Cockrum and Chris Claremont after interest was rekindled in Giant-Size X-Men. Claremont would stay on the book through 1991.

Uncanny X-Men would last be seen in 2016 with Cullen Bunn and Greg Land introducing an X-Men team lead by Magneto and featuring Psylocke, Archangel, Mystique, Fantomex, and Sabretooth.

Marvel previously teased a Magneto-led team with X-Men Black. So Uncanny will more than likely not feature Magneto leading the team. It’s more than likely it will feature the original X-Men team with Angel, Beast, Cyclops, Iceman, and Marvel Girl a.k.a Jean Grey being led by Professor X with Magneto as the primary villain.

And while many would like to see Claremont back on Uncanny, it could be in the cards. Marvel announced Claremont would helm the X-Men Black series alongside Chris Bachalo.

Are you excited to see Uncanny X-Men back at Marvel? Who do you want to take over creative duties on this title? Would you want to see Claremont return?
