Arnold Schwarzenegger Announces He Will Be Back In Terminator 6
What can be better than James Cameron coming aboard to help develop a whole new trilogy of Terminator films? Having Arnold Schwarzenegger himself come back into the fold for the next Terminator movie!
From his interview with Kleinexeitung, Schwarzenegger stated:
In March next year, I am shooting ‘Terminator 6,’ James Cameron and David Ellison are back on board and then comes a ‘Conan.’
Arnold has confirmed that he starts filming around March of 2018. He will be working alongside James Cameron and the producer for Terminator Genisys David Ellison. Adding to this news, James Cameron also gave more information related to Arnold’s role in the upcoming film. According to an interview with The Arnold Fans, Cameron stated Arnold will not be reprising his role as the T-800, but he may play the inspiration behind the appearance used in the film.
As you might remember, Genisys wasn’t well received by fans of the franchise. Critics were also not too happy with what the film became. Between a trailer that worked to give away a major spoiler, to an underwhelming plot, the film suffered even though it had some big names attached to it including Schwarzenegger and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke taking on the role of Sarah Conner.
Cameron himself confirmed that the latest installment of the Terminator franchise will follow the events of Terminator Genisys. It will be interesting to see how they address some of the issues left behind in the film. Between a surviving Skynet AI that can still do harm to Kyle Reese’s developing a relationship with Sarah Connor. There are many avenues that can be explored.
The film will begin production sometime around March of 2018. The currently unnamed Terminator film will be directed by Deadpool’s, Tim Miller. The trilogy will be part of a new deal between Ellison’s Skydance studio and Paramount Pictures. This deal will also see Cameron having an active role in the development of the story, something that many fans are excited to hear.
