Avengers: Infinity War Release Date Moved to April 27!
Marvel Studios will be moving up Avengers: Infinity War from its previously scheduled May 4, 2018 release date to April 27, 2018.
Marvel Studios made the announcement via a fun back and forth on Twitter with Robert Downey Jr.
They first asked how excited we were to see Infinity War on May 4th.

Then Robert Downey Jr. got involved and asked, “Any chance I could see it earlier?”

They responded, “Anything for you, Mr. Stark! How’s April 27th?”

But Robert Downey Jr. wasn’t satisfied with just him seeing it earlier. He asked if he could see Avengers: Infinity War with friends.
Great. With friends?

Then we got a clip of the advancing Wakandan army with Captain America, Black Panther, Okoye, Hulk, War Machine, Black Widow, and Winter Soldier.

Robert Downey Jr. still wasn’t satisfied. He asked if the entire world could see it on April 27, 2018.

To which Marvel Studios responded, “That’s a fantastic idea! Done.”

And Robert Downey Jr. celebrated with a classic Tony Stark line, “Guys, I’m bringing the party to you.”

Avengers: Infinity War will kick off a packed summer schedule. The move comes after Ryan Reynolds and Fox moved up The Untitled Deadpool Sequel to May 18, 2018. It was previously scheduled to hit theaters on June 1, 2018.
With Avengers: Infinity War, The Untitled Deadpool Sequel and Solo: A Star Wars Story dropping in May, it would have been a very crowded movie slate and made a number of consumers choose which movie they wanted to see over another. By moving Avengers: Infinity War up that might alleviate some of the pressure.
This also looks like a move to really help Solo: A Star Wars Story. It will be the first Star Wars film after the extremely divisive Star Wars: The Last Jedi. And will have a lot resting on its soldiers. Avengers: Infinity War is going to crush no matter what. I mean they’ve only released one trailer and it absolutely broke the internet and racked up a record number of views.
What do you make of this date change? Are you excited to see Avengers: Infinity War on April 27, 2018?
