Danger Girl Movie in the Works!

Danger Girl

Artist J. Scott Campbell and writer Andy Hartnell’s Danger Girl comic book series will be getting adapted into film. The film was announced last November, but they just found their writer in Umair Aleem according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Danger Girl follow the adventures of Abbey Chase, who is recruited into the secret Danger Girls organization. Abbey teams up with Sydney Savage and Natalie Kasstle as they are guided by a former British Secret Service Agent who goes by the name Deuce. The comic debuted in March 1998  under Jim Lee’s Wildstorm Imprint and became an instant hit combining Charlie’s Angels, James Bond, and Indiana Jones.

The adventures of the Danger Girls led them into conflict with the villainous Hammer Syndicate. The Danger Girls traversed the globe and prevented the Hammer Syndicate from acquiring a number of mystical objects.

While the older stories focused on Abbey Chase as a member of the Danger Girls, more recent miniseries have seen Abbey Chase going solo as she seeks to learn more about her past and her father.

The upcoming feature film is being produced by Robert Kulzer of Constantin Film, Jeremy Bolt of Bolt Pictures, and Adrian Askarieh of Prime Universe Films. Constantin’s Martin Moszkowicz will executive produce alongside J. Scott Campbell and Andy Hartnell.

Aleem is an upcoming writer who recently sold his action thriller Kate to Netflix. He also wrote 2015’s  Extraction starring Bruce Willis and Gina Carano.

I’m pretty excited to see Danger Girl get a live-action. The comics are just a pleasure to read with plenty of adventure, action, and mystery. It has that classic adventure vibe that just sucks you in and takes you to Neverland. You just don’t want to leave. I hope this project continues to progress and we get to see it sooner rather than later!
