The Dark Knight Returns to Theaters for its 10th Anniversary!
“I think you and I are destined to do this…forever.”
Famous words uttered by the Joker. Just one of countless memorable moments from The Dark Knight. Christopher Nolan’s classic is one of the most successful and critically lauded films of all time. It broke box office records, it gave Christopher Nolan a Golden Ticket for any film he’d ever want to make, it won Oscars and it changed the Oscars.
Oh, and it just so happens to be the best superhero film ever made.
Nolan’s classic “changed things.” For that reason, it’s been mimicked time and time again. The argument can even be made that the DCEU is a failure because it all began with an attempt at making Christopher Nolan’s Superman. Without Christopher Nolan. The Dark Knight Rises was a great follow-up. But it was missing something…a delivery on the promise that Joker and Batman were truly destined to do this forever.

No, unfortunately Christian Bale’s Batman and Heath Ledger’s Joker would never meet again. But the one story they gave us is one of the best films ever made. One that also contained incredible portrayals of Two Face, the Maroni Crime Family, Alfred, Lucius Fox and Scarecrow. For those and other reasons, The Dark Knight is returning to theaters for its 10th anniversary!
A Reddit user by the name of mikewhoneedsabike compiled a list of East Coast theaters with screenings on February 8th and 11th. Chances are more screenings of the film will pop up. As the film’s actual anniversary of July 18th looms ever closer, more theaters will probably take the hint. As it stands right now Showcase Cinemas is expected to have screenings at 7:30 pm on February 8, 2018 and at 1:00 pm on February 11, 2018.
Christopher Nolan’s magnum opus joins a year crowded with superhero films. But this isn’t just any Batman film. This is The Batman film. At least until the next one.
The Dark Knight broke box office records once before. It could do it again.
