Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Zachary Levi’s Shazam! 2 Reportedly Get Release Dates
After delays and more delays, The Flash starring Ezra Miller is gathering speed toward a finish line. Not only did we get a release date for The Flash, but we also got one for Zachary Levi’s Shazam! 2
The Flash, according to ComicBookMovie.com, is penciled in officially to come out July 1 of 2022 – Fourth of July weekend. IT/IT Chapter 2’s Andy Muschietti is set to direct and Ezra Miller is still expected to star.

Busy scribe Christina Hodson is attached to write the script which has passed through several hands.
Miller and Grant Morrison reportedly pitched a screenplay earlier this year in a move to reportedly keep Miller involved with the project.

Story and directing duties were in the hands of Spider-Man: Homecoming duo Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley before that. Daley and Goldstein left due to a clash in creative vision with the studio and their star.
Miller’s status as Barry Allen was in question for a time. He hadn’t played the character since Justice League and his contract was believed to be up last May. But, he confirmed to W Korea The Flash was “absolutely” moving forward last August.
It wasn’t until July that Muschietti was brought on board. Nothing is ever for sure, a lot could happen between now and then, but it sounds like Flash can be classified for once as firmly in motion.

And The Flash is far from alone. 2022, as well as the preceding year, will be stacked for DC/Warner. Shazam 2 will also strike like lightning in theaters that year.
Entertainment Weekly reports the Shazam follow-up “will be released April 1, 2022 (so, yes, April Fool’s Day — but the announcement is no prank).” Making things more interesting, it is to come out four months after Black Adam.
Starting production next year, starring “The Rock” Dwayne Johnson, and directed by Jaume Collet- Serra, Black Adam is scheduled for Dec. 22nd, 2021, that ambitious holiday slot that paid dividends for Aquaman.
While their movies are mere months apart, Shazam and Black Adam aren’t anticipated for a tango until the third Shazam movie if it happens, said Zachary Levi at CCXP Cologne over the summer:
“I can say that as far as I know, Black Adam is not going to be in the second Shazam!, because the idea is that they want to go and do a standalone Black Adam movie first. And then it would kind of be, if we do a third Shazam! and a second Black Adam, kind of [parallel] like that, that’s where we would [meet].”

Also in 2022, Aquaman 2 will see release on Dec. 16. That and Shazam 2 are staying consistent with when their first outings came out. Up ahead, we have Birds of Prey incoming this February and Wonder Woman 1984 putting on the armor for blockbuster movie season.
