First Look: Milla Jovovich Shows Off Her Character in the Upcoming Monster Hunter Live Action Film
The Monster Hunter live-action film is in full swing and star actress Milla Jovovich just announced exactly who she will be playing in the upcoming action flick. Jovovich announced on Instagram that she would be playing Captain Natalie Artemis.
Jovovich clearly indicates her character is a ranger and Monster Hunter. She also notes that her character is equipped with a “slinger,” and promises she will eventually reveal more Monster Hunter weapons in the future.
Jovovich also announced that her character will be part of Alpha Team and that the Monster Hunter armor and bone blade will be part of the film. The film is currently in production in South Africa and Namibia.
Jovovich isn’t the only cast member providing updates on the movie. Her co-star Diego Boneta also introduced his character as Sergeant Marshall.
This isn’t the first video game adaptation for Jovovich. She famously portrayed Alice in the Resident Evil movie franchise.
Here’s the official synopsis courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter:
“The movie’s plot centers on the leader of a UN military team named Artemis, played by Jovovich, who is transported to another realm populated by monsters. There she meets the Hunter (Jaa), with the two teaming up to close a portal to prevent monsters from attacking Earth.”
This film will bring back a number of old friends from the Resident Evil franchise. Robert Kulzer, Martin Moszkowicz, and Jeremy Bolt will be producing alongside Paul W.S. Anderson and Dennis Berardi. This isn’t Anderson’s first rode with video game adaptations. He not only worked on Resident Evil, but Mortal Kombat as well.
This film has just begun its production so we’re a long ways away from a trailer. There is no official release date as of yet.
