Guardians of the Galaxy Star Sean Gunn Wants in a James Bond Movie!
Sean Gunn said he wanted to play a James Bond villain during a Question and Answer session on Saturday March 31 at Awesome Con. The revelation about his desire to become a Bond villain came after he discussed Avengers: Infinity War. You can watch the video above.
A fan asked Sean Gunn if he had his eye on a specific comic book character outside of Rocket Raccoon or Kraglin he would like to play. Gunn revealed he’s much more interested in doing theater roles such as Iago in Othello. Gunn elaborated, “If I were an action star it would be different, but I’m a character actor. I just like to find interesting roles wherever they live.”
The moderator stepped in and asked Gunn if he would be interested in playing James Bond. Gunn was quick to respond, “I’d want to be the villain. I’d love to be a Bond villain. That would be rad. To me that’s a much greater challenge if you could be a really interesting Bond villain.”
What do you think? Could Sean Gunn make a pretty good Bond villain?
He might already have an in as his Guardians of the Galaxy co-star Dave Bautista was one of the more recent Bond villains in Spectre.
I can maybe see Gunn becoming an extremely sinister villain like David Tennant’s Purple Man from Jessica Jones. Obviously, he wouldn’t have any kind of supernatural powers, but to have the kind of control the Purple Man has and to manipulate everything around Bond could make him one of the more evil Bond villains.
Sean Gunn will next appear in Avengers: Infinity War on April 27, 2018. It’s unclear whether he just contributed to the motion capture for Rocket Raccoon or if Kraglin will actually show up to help the Guardians and the Avengers take on Thanos and his villainous Black Order.
