Harley Quinn Gets Kicked Out in New Birds of Prey Set Photos
Birds of Prey is living up to the second part of its offbeat title (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn). At least that’s the way it looks.
Another look at Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn is going viral and, this time, she doesn’t look so happy. The assumption is she gets kicked out by Mr. J in the scene being filmed.
Twitter user @BirdsofPreyDC, an unaffiliated account, tweeted the pics. You can judge for yourself. Clearly, she is carrying some belongings and looking up in despond at someone or something.

They also shared photos of Harley looking for a shoulder to lean on and borrowing actor Dana Lee’s, who plays a character named Doc.

Between the title and these new images, it all makes sense. Joker has a habit of throwing Harley out in fits of rage, leaving her to strike out on her own. Typically, she winds up hanging around Poison Ivy, The Suicide Squad, Gotham City Sirens, or the Birds (before boomeranging back to old Puddin’, usually).
This is the latest round of images teasing what to expect from Birds of Prey. Prior behind-the-scenes photos of Mary Elizabeth Winstead on set as Huntress were released, giving an expanded look at her costume. And the first full glimpse we saw were images of Robbie in a bright new outfit, and some new ink, on the street when Harley is out celebrating — and hankering for a burrito.
These new images, and others, proffer an idea into the vision of Cathy Yan whose pitch of a neon noir world for this team will be what makes it on screen. She also aims for an R rating, no doubt to the delight of moviegoers awaiting this movie with alacrity.
Beyond stills, fans have been treated to a teaser trailer that shows close-ups of weapons and garb as well as set footage of Ella Jay Basco, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, and Chris Messina in broad daylight hailing a police car.
Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is scheduled for release on February 7, 2020. It will be the next film in Warner/DC’s new slate after Shazam! and Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker.
