Leaker Spills All He Knows About ‘Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’ Including The Return Of A Fan-Favorite Monster
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire’s release is fast approaching as 2023 turns into 2024, which means the spoilers aren’t far behind. A few have come our way which excitingly reaffirm suspicions floating around out there on the interwebs.
However, beyond the usual speculation and low-hanging fruit given away by scrutiny of the trailer, at least one individual claiming to be in the know revealed via Twitter/X that GxK will be host to the MonsterVerse homecoming of a truly legendary Toho character.
Before going any further, we acknowledge that spoilers are a sensitive topic that meets derision as much as skepticism from diehard fans. Given that, we warn you in advance if you wish to remain surprised, but we advise you as well to receive the information as a rumor for now.

X account Divinity Seeker presented all they supposedly know about GxK a short while back, and their ‘inside knowledge’ focuses on the hierarchy of the characters in the story.
First off, Divinity Seeker claims newcomer Dan Stevens is the lead actor among the humans and plays someone named Trapper. Conversely, the primary villain is a Titan who caused the Ice Age.
The account is clearly referring to the creature that was already identified as Shimo – an ancient common ancestor to the Titans that might fall under the authoritarian control of the Skar King, who was the first new Titan we were introduced to in the initial teaser for GxK that dropped early on in 2023.
Much of this was previously established in prior leaks, but Divinity Seeker lays a surprise on their followers we sure haven’t heard anywhere else.

In the thread, they say “Mothra returns,” but don’t provide further details. When last we saw the Queen of the Monsters, she had returned to her larval stage after dying by Gravity Beam – though not before bestowing her essence on Godzilla at the climax of King of the Monsters.
She could emerge from her latest cocoon and lend a hand, or maybe a wing, when Kong and Godzilla battle for Earth or perhaps she appears in another news clipping. This would be a shameful waste of her first appearance in years on either side of the Pacific.
The silver lining is Mothra and her devotees shouldn’t sweat the scale of her reemergence too terribly since she isn’t the star of the show. That designation goes to her symbiotic partner Godzilla, but unfortunately there is glum news in his case.
The King might suffer a worse afterthought level of treatment than Mothra. Divinity Seeker’s intel conveys his role will be minor again while Kong sets things in motion once more.
Seeker adds, however, a wish viewers of Godzilla vs. Kong had once they bore witness to the climate and physics of the Hollow Earth shall be granted. A monster fight will take place in zero gravity, which could take our minds off the prospect of less Gojira.
Long live the King? Maybe not so much.
