Lindsay Lohan Ramps up Campaign to Become Batgirl in Latest Interview

Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is back in the limelight and her main career goal looks to be a starring role in DC Films and Joss Whedon’s upcoming Batgirl film. Lohan first began her campaign to become Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl in the beginning of January where she told her followers on Twitter to tell everyone they know including Joss Whedon they want her as Batgirl. She followed that up by posting a picture of her next to a likeness of Batgirl from the comics.

Now, Lohan has taken it a step further. She appeared on The Wendy Williams Show to make her pitch to become Batgirl. She also defends herself against criticism of her due to her past behavior that saw her end up in jail and working at a morgue.

Lohan begins talking about Batgirl around the 15:30 mark. Watch:

“I don’t like when people always bring up and rehash the past. This is actually quite a long time ago if you think about it now. And I would rather just stay focused on what I want to do next. And whenever people bring up the past, things I’ve experienced and gone through – jail and working at the morgue, which is actually really traumatizing stuff… I’ve learned my lessons. But then it distracts from actually maybe meeting with people to do Batgirl or maybe doing a Mean Girls 2. It really distracts people. They only think about the negative, and I don’t think that’s a way to move forward in life.”

While Lohan’s troubled past might be one obstacle from landing the role as Batgirl, she might have an even larger one to overcome.

Director Joss Whedon previously stated he’s looking at unknowns actresses to fill the role of Batgirl. Lohan is the complete opposite. She’s a very well-known actress and public figure who shot to stardom in Disney’s remake of The Parent Trap and then catapulted into fame with Freaky Friday and Mean Girls.

One thing that Lohan might have going for her is DC Films and Warner Bros. included Batgirl on their most recent slate of projects that are moving forward at the studio.
