New Spider-Man: Far From Home Trailer Reveals Huge Details About MCU Phase 4
Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios released their most recent trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Check it out.
The trailer makes it clear the film takes place after Avengers: Endgame as Peter struggles with the loss of Tony Stark aka Iron Man. However, he’s trying to move on and plans a vacation, where he won’t be able to do the New York Police Department’s job for them.
While on vacation, Nick Fury tracks him down and introduces him to Quentin Beck, Jake Gyllenhaal’s character. That’s when we get some huge information about the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios embraces the idea of the multiverse and reveals that Gyllenhaal’s Beck is not from the prime Earth universe. In fact, he’s from an alternate Earth. Fury recruits Spider-Man to join Beck and Mysterio to fight off a number of elemental monsters that are attacking a number of iconic European cities.
The trailer really focuses on Peter Parker dealing with Tony’s loss. In fact, he seems to not want to take on major threats because he knows when Tony did, he ultimately paid the price. But Peter Parker being Peter Parker, he makes the right call and steps up as Fury puts it.
Also, it appears Peter Parker doesn’t really have a secret identity as the trailer reveals that MJ knows who he is.
Here’s the official description for the film:
“Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man™: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man™: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!”
With the release of the trailer, tickets for the film went on sale as we previously indicated they would.
Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Samuel L. Jackson, Jake Gyllenhaal, Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Cobie Smulders, Jon Favreau, JB Smoove, Jacob Batalon, and Martin Starr. The film is directed by Jon Watts.
It hits theaters on July 2nd.
