Ryan Reynolds Drops Hilarious Detective Pikachu Spotlight Video!

Detective Pikachu announced they will drop a new trailer tomorrow and promised everyone will be saying, “Pika Pika.”

The teaser trailer highlights Ryan Reynolds’ Detective Pikachu, who is astounded that anyone can actually make out what he is saying. We also get glimpses of Mr. Mime and a Charizard who is about to unload a whole breath of fire.

Not only did Detective Pikachu drop this teaser trailer, but Reynolds dropped his own video parodying actors discussing the seriousness of their roles.

Reynolds states, “You know, I lived it, I breathed it. I spent the entire year as Detective Pikachu.”

He would add, “Bringing Detective Pikachu to the big screen is a privilege that I don’t take lightly. Every second of my energy is spent making this character come alive with the same exacting standards that the most discerning fans would come to expect.”

Reynolds continues, “As many of you know, I vanish into my roles. This was a funny anecdote, I was on my way to pick up my daughters from school when I heard that I got the role. I didn’t show up at school because Detective Pikachu, he doesn’t know who those two little girls are. Who are they?”

Actress Blake Lively, Reynolds’ wife, then makes an appearance saying, “They are our daughters. He just left them.”

Reynolds is unphased, “He doesn’t have a wife. No. he’s a little yellow guy who lives in Rhyme City in a briar patch or something.”

“I immersed myself completely within the world of Pokemon. I read about them. I live at his height. I tried to lose 182 pounds to match his weight until doctors intervened.”

Lively chimes in, “He didn’t even change his voice. It just sounds like him.”

Reynolds then hilariously deadpans, “The point is, my daughters, they may never see their Dad again. But you can be damned sure that they are looking up at that big screen this summer and they are seeing Detective Pikachu.”

Lively bluntly states, “We aren’t going.”

Watch and be prepared to laugh!

Detective Pikachu hits theaters on May 10, 2019.
