Josh Bratman, Executive Producer of Priest, and Fright Night will produce with Snyder and Lemire signed on as executive producers.
A.D.: After Death from Image Comics is currently slated for a three issue run. It’s set in a future where death has been cured via genetics. But years after the discovery, one man begins to question everything sending him on a mind-bending journey that brings him face-to-face with his past and his own morality.
A.D. is the first project Snyder and Lemire, longtime friends and both acclaimed and bestselling comic creators in their own right, have worked on together. This is the first project Lemire has illustrated that he has not also written.
Snyder is currently writing All-Star Batman after his five year run on Batman while Lemire is writing Marvel’s new book, Thanos, and continues his work with Valiant’s Bloodshot.
Snyder and illustrator Jock’s Wytches is currently optioned at New Regency with Plan B producing.
Lemire’s Descender was previously picked up by Sony last year. And the rights to Lemire and Emi Lenox’s Plutona also from Image Comics was acquired by Ken Kao to be produced in a feature film. Essex County is also under option from First Generation Films with Christina Piovesan producing as a TV series.
The deal for A.D.: After Death was brokered by Angela Cheng Caplan of Cheng Caplan Company, Inc. along with Lemire’s attorney Allison Binder of Stone, Genow, Smelkinson, Binder & Christopher, LLP and Snyder’s attorney Lilian Laserson of Laserson Law.
