Zack Snyder Reveals His Ending and Plans for Justice League
Zack Snyder seemed to further confirm the rumors and speculation that continue about his original plans for Justice League, specifically the ending of the film and the plans he had.
Snyder engaged with a user on social media site Vero confirming what would have been one of the final shots in his version of Justice League.
Vero user Thiago Kesseli posted a photo showcasing the Justice League standing on a platform that came from the film’s blu-ray extras. Snyder confirmed the image is from the end of the film and provided some context stating, “It’s from the end looking into a boom tube.”
It’s fairly common knowledge at this point Snyder’s intent was to make two movies and debut renowned Justice League archenemy Darkseid. Unfortunately, that doesn’t appear to be happening, and it’s rather unclear where Warner Bros. and DC Films will go with the Justice League. One thing is clear, the idea of Darkseid is still possible given Steppenwolf escaped through a Boom Tube at the end of the film, and the character was mentioned by Steppenwolf.
In fact, leaked storyboard art confirmed Darkseid had been discussed leading up to Justice League. It the leaked art, Darkseid sits on a throne with the Hall of Justice reduced to ash and rubble.
Unused and probably not even filmed, the sequence would have occurred in a premonition by Cyborg. After linking up with the Boom Tube technology he would see flashes of Darkseid and the destruction.
This is actually another piece to Snyder’s puzzle. Other reports revealed Cyborg was going to figure heavily into Snyder’s vision, beyond bonding with the Mother Boxes.
Ray Fisher, who plays Cyborg, talked about Justice League at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in New Jersey. He divulged how big Snyder wanted his role — and power level — to be. Snyder had long term plans and a lot more material filmed.
“[What] I will say is Zack had very specific plans for Cyborg, and for his trajectory. And Zack probably shot enough footage in the first film to make like two movies out of. He definitely had a whole, I believe, a trilogy in mind, with respect to Justice League. And if his vision had sort of come to fruition, Cyborg would have probably been one of, if not the most powerful, metahuman in the entire canon, in the film universe. And that’s just one of the crazy things about Zack, is that he can take someone who’s such a newcomer and evolve their powers to the point where, you know, Cyborg is like ‘S tier.'”
Given Fisher’s revelation, it’s clear why Snyder would support the release of his cut of Justice League.
What do you make about Snyder’s revelation? Do you want to see a Snyder cut of Justice League released?
