The end of The Conjuring franchise is now in sight, as New Line Cinemas has officially confirmed the release date for the what the studio is billing as the fourth and final film in the long-haunting paranormal series.

Michael Chavez to Direct Final Installment

Still currently untitled, the next The Conjuring film will be helmed by franchise regular Michael Chavez, who previously provided his talents to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It and The Nun II.

Meanwhile, its script will be penned by Aquaman duology head screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick.

Bye-Bye To A Major Box Office Hit

The Conjuring franchise, which kicked off with director James Wan’s eponymous 2013 film, has been a phenomenal financial success for New Line Cinema.

Made on a modest budget of just $20 million, the first The Conjuring pulled in nearly $320 million worldwide, in doing so guaranteeing the production of even more related films.

Since then, the franchise and its spin-offs, such as the Annabelle and The Nun series of movies, have gone on to pull in a global gross of more than $2 billion.

IMAX Release and Franchise Legacy

Sadly for fans, as with all paranormal investigations, this one has finally reached its end.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, this final installment in the mainline The Conjuring series will make its way to theaters on September 5th, 2025.

Further, the film will also be screen in IMAX – a move that not only promises to provide horror fans with a particularly immersive and terrifying experience, but also makes financial sense given how such releases can be consistently relied on to sell tickets.

At current, New Line Cinema has yet to release any specific details regarding the plot of the final The Conjuring film.

However, in light of what we know about its overall production, it seems fans can at least look forward to a thrilling and satisfying finale.

Between Chavez’s directorial talents and Johnson-McGoldrick’s horror writing chops, the film seems to have all the right pieces in place to deliver a fitting sendoff to the saga of Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Other Exciting Releases

In addition to The Conjuring finale, New Line Cinema has also announced a new release date for another one of their eagerly awaited, horror-centric films, The Bride!.

A unique take on the classic Bride of Frankenstein story directed by Maggie Gyllenhal, the film has been moved up one week from its original October 3rd, 2025 release date and will now hit theaters on September 26th, 2025.

Starring The Dark Knight star Christian Bale as Frankenstein’s monster and Women Talking lead Jessie Buckley as the Bride, The Bride! will also be receiving an IMAX release of its own.
