The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan Hints at Batman Role Again
The Walking Dead’s Jeffrey Dean Morgan did it again. He once again teased a role as Batman in an upcoming DC film while at Walker Stalker Con in New Jersey.
ComicBook.com reports Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who played Thomas Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, was asked about possible acting in theater. However, his answer led to teasing a potential role as Batman.
He reportedly said, “There’s a role in the DC Universe I’ve got my eye on.”
Morgan has been softly campaigning/teasing for the role of Batman for awhile. He first teased the potential role when Warner Bros. announced a potential Flashpoint movie. Morgan tweeted out two images of him and his The Walking Dead co-star Lauren Cohan, who also happened to play Martha Wayne in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

He followed that up with an Instagram post depicting Thomas Wayne as Batman and Martha Kent as the Joker.
He then went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to tease the role.
With new reports of Ben Affleck leaving Batman after the upcoming Flash movie, rumors have spread like wildfire of Jon Hamm campaigning for the role. Jake Gyllenhaal has also been rumored to be favored for the role. However if either Gyllenhaal, Hamm, or someone else replaces Affleck, it’s possible Morgan could still become Batman.
If the upcoming Flash movie resembles anything like Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert’s Flashpoint limited comic book series, Thomas Wayne becomes Batman and is a central figure in the story.
It’s more than likely Warner Bros. and DC Films will at least loosely adapt the Flashpoint story. However, what could be really interesting is if they decide to not only use the Flashpoint story to reset the DC Extended Universe, but also launch a Flashpoint Universe at the same time. This would allow DC to begin telling multiple stories with multiple characters and actors. It could also lead to eventually revealing the Multiverse – something that has already been accepted by a significant audience who watches the Arrowverse. It would give DC Films flexibility to create lots of stories that don’t have to be directly connected to each other.
