Warner Bros. Releases First Teaser Trailer for Joker Movie Starring Joaquin Phoenix
Warner Bros. released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming Joker movie starring Joaquin Phoenix.
Take a look:
The trailer definitely backs up actor Marc Maron’s claims that the film would be “more of an origin story and a character study of a mentally ill person that becomes The Joker.”
In an interview with NME, Maron would add, “It’s more of an intimate and gritty movie with a very specific scope. It’s going to be really interesting to see how it comes out.”
Phoenix has previously described the movie, “It feels unique, it is its own world in some ways, and maybe, mostly, it scares the f***ing s**t out of me or something. It might as well be the thing that scares you the most.”
Joker hits theaters on October 4, 2019. The film stars Joaquin Phoenix, Zazie Beetz, Robert De Niro, Marc Maron, Douglas Hodge, Brett Cullen, and Frances Conroy.
Joker is directed by Todd Phillips based off a screen play from Phillips and Scott Silver.
What do you think about the trailer? Does it capture your idea of the Joker? Or do you think we might get a reinvented Joker with a completely unique origin story?
