New Report Reveals How Loki Returns for the Upcoming Disney+ Show
A new report reveals how Tom Hiddleston’s Loki will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in the upcoming Loki-centric television being developed for Disney’s streaming service, Disney+.
The Hollywood Reporter notes their sources tell them “the show will follow Loki as the trickster and shapeshifter pops up throughout human history as unlikely influencer on historical events.”
As fans of the MCU know, Loki was more than likely killed at the hands of Thanos in the beginning of [easyazon_link identifier=”B07CLGV76S” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Avengers: Infinity War[/easyazon_link]. However, we know Loki is a trickster as well as a master illusionist and he’s faked his death before in Thor: The Dark World.
This report indicates that Loki might have actually been killed by Thanos for good, and instead will be a time traveling adventure detailing Loki’s escapades from the past especially his interactions with Earth. It all honesty, it sounds like [easyazon_link identifier=”B0776K4VGT” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]DC’s Legends of Tomorrow[/easyazon_link] which airs on The CW and follows the crew of the Waverider. The crew has interacted with a number of historical figures including Edward Teach aka Blackbeard, Julius Caesar, Al Capone, Hedy Lamarr, Elvis Presley, and P.T. Barnum.
Along with details regarding how Loki could return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe following his alleged death in Avengers: Infinity War, THR also revealed that Michael Waldron has been hired as the showrunner for the project.
Waldron is working with Paramount TV and Steven Soderbergh on Florida Man. He is also writing and producing on Cartoon Network’s [easyazon_link identifier=”B01CV3I2BM” locale=”US” tag=”boundingintocomics-20″]Rick & Morty[/easyazon_link].
The report also gives updates on The Vision and Scarlet Witch series indicating it’s being run by Captain Marvel writer Jac Schaeffer. The Falcon and Winter Soldier series has hired Malcolm Spellman for writing duties.
