San Diego Comic-Con Posters Reveal First Look at Live-Action ‘Titans’ Team – Still Ugly!
DC Comics’ upcoming live-action television series Titans, that will debut on the company’s streaming service, DC Universe, sometime this year is rolling out some new banners ahead of San Diego Comic-Con this week. These banners give us our first looks at Raven, Beast Boy, and Starfire, along with a new look at Robin.
While we’ve gotten multiple official images regarding Brenton Thwaites’ Robin, we haven’t seen any of Starfire, Raven, and Beast Boy. What we have seen were some set photos of Raven, Starfire, and Beast Boy and the costumes were absolutely horrid. And these banners don’t seem to be helping things as they appear to confirm the costumes we saw in the set photos.
Take a look:

What does give me some hope, is Brenton Thwaites’ Dick Grayson is not in his superhero outfit. He appears to be in normal street clothes. In fact, it looks like he is wearing some kind of brown jacket, which we know does not appear on his Robin costume. I’m praying this is the case for the rest of the team because Starfire and Beast Boy do not look like their iconic superheroes we know and love from the comics whatsoever. I would be hard-pressed to identify them as superheroes without the Titans logo above them. But that might be what DC Universe is going for. They have to keep their alternate egos a secret and if they look like your average Joe, I’d say they are doing a good job.
However, from a marketing stand point, you’d think they’d want to show us the superheroes we will see on DC Universe.
Titans will see Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth embroiled in a conspiracy that will could bring Hell to Earth. They will be joined by Starfire and Beast Boy as they form a surrogate family and team of heroes. Hawk and Dove are also expected to join the team, but it does not appear they will be part of the core group. DC Universe describes the upcoming television show as “a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise.”
What do you make of these new posters? Does it get you excited for the show?
