Back in November it was announced that new episodes of Stargirl would air on The CW in primetime the day after they premiered on DC Universe. Not only will it air in primetime on The CW, but it will also be made available on The CW’s streaming app allowing viewers to see the show following its television airdate.

In a press release The CW stated:
“The highly anticipated DC Universe series STARGIRL will now have an exclusive linear window on The CW Network, which will broadcast each episode the day after its debut on the DC Universe digital subscription service.”
The show was originally announced as a DC Universe original at San Diego Comic-Con back in 2018. The show is written and executive produced by Geoff Johns with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter also announced as executive producers.
The show stars Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore, a high school sophomore, who teams up with a group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past.
The series is expected to feature a reimagined Justice of Society of America.

DC promised the series “reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable series.”
Johns spoke about the character, who he created back in 1999.
“Stargirl was the first character I created for DC. Most important, Courtney Whitmore was inspired by my sister who passed away. To have an opportunity to tell a story celebrating this superhero was literally the first thing I wanted to do because it is so personal to me. Also, a character that speaks to being young, to a legacy and to pushing forward seems so important to me nowadays.”
Alleged set photos from June of this year indicated the show might crossover with DC Universe’s Doom Patrol and Titans.
What do you make of this new Stargirl trailer? Do you plan on checking it out come Spring 2020?
